You Are Not so Smart is a blog about the many ways we delude ourselves based on psychological and economic research. In a similar manner to the Freakonomics Blog it takes pot-shots at the conventional wisdom such as wine snobbery, the usefulness of meetings, and caffeine buzzes.
The Misconception: You know why you like the things you like and feel the way you feel.
The Truth: The origin of certain emotional states is unavailable to you, and when pressed to explain them, you will just make something up.

Some nice writing in there alright. Shame traditional journalists aren’t as good at science reporting; might be less water sold as medicine.
Very interesting article about “Extinction Bursts”. Must remember that when I’m in the supermarket with Ben in a couple of years.
Roll my eyes and comment how he’s just having an extinction burst while people walk by staring… 😀
It’s always good to use a bit of cognitive psychology as an excuse. Makes a nice change being able to read about some proper science rather than being stuck in the qualitative mess of this year’s course.
